After the official Bluewater Rally Battle Flag’s “hoisting”, we departed Noss Marina, to the encouragement of the Marina Staff………………That is for the safe passage across Biscay, to Bayona, in Northern Spain.

After filling up with fuel, we headed out into Start Bay in glorious sunshine, made all the more enjoyable as we had not seen it for some time. The forecast is kind for the first three days, and all being well the weather Gods will be kind to us. It is our third time heading south across Biscay, so we are hoping for a third time lucky in the weather department.

It has been an unremarkable passage so far, motoring all day. The mainsail is up to steady the boats motion, but what wind there is,  is of course bang on the nose! It turned grey and chilly this afternoon, but the threatened rain held off.

We are currently 14 miles due south of the Lizard at 49.45N 04.58W, at 1915 BST, on a heading of 228 degrees @ SOG 6.5. We should be well West of the Ouessant Traffic Separation Scheme at dawn tomorrow.

It’s Fish Pie for dinner this evening, with all the trimmings, so we will have plenty of good food inside us to see us through what will be a cold night.

Weather permitting I hope to get the new fishing rod out after breakfast to see if I can catch us dinner for tomorrow.

No sign of Dolphins as yet, but the cameras are at the ready.

Until tomorrow……………….
