Last night we enjoyed a nice last dinner in the Med — baked swordfish from the fish that we caught south of Formentera on Thursday.

So far on our passage from St Jean to Lagos and then the Azores, the winds have not been favourable for sailing, but on the whole they have at least been mainly benign, to the benefit of boat and crew. Then at about 9am this morning Neptune seemed to notice us heading for the exit, and so we were given, in addition to the wind on the nose (to which we have become accustomed), also now a rising F6 and the sort of nasty deep short seas that the Med likes to serve up at short notice.

We will eventually be past Gibraltar and Tarifa and in the clear, merrily on our way again, but in the meantime we are taking our time, motoring slowly into it, keeping the speed down, for the well-being of the boat and the crew.

We are still expecting to be in Lagos tomorrow some time around mid-day or a bit after.
