After a night on moorings in Falmouth we went into a stern-to berth in Antigua Yacht Club, with professional help in the form of Oli. AYC has a premium price, but we thought that we would get premium facilities. However it was clearly not geared up to small boats - electricity another £20 per day just to be connected, additional charge for units used (so we did not connect); no wifi, facilities pretty basic, with only cold water for the showers, with not even a single hook to hang clothes. There were plus points - we had a really sociable night with folk from Jo and then from Sea Rhapsody, and the Dockmaster was friendly and helpful; however, after a night disturbed by loud singing from the adjacent bar we bit the bullet, moved out, and are now in Nelson's Dockyard (2/3 the cost of AYC, electricity connection free consumption charge only, free wifi from the adjacent Galley Bar and hot showers on board)
Late lunch at Catherine's, lots of wine, great food and live music; we are now on the boat recovering.
