Rolly to Jolly

For the last ten days we have stayed in Falmouth, with unusually high winds and rain discouraging any thoughts of sailing out.
On Tuesday evening Liz flew in to join us. Wednesday we drove around some of the island, had a light lunch at Harmony Hall, and then ate in the evening with Oli at Hamilton's. Major excitement was, when leaving the boat in the dark, our tender was less than 10 metres away when another tender travelling at high speed with no lights whatsoever, came between us and True Colours; loud crack as it went past and when we inspected our mooring buoy later, it had been split open, and the sign on it destroyed; if it had been an anchor chain there would have been one destroyed dinghy, and probably one injured driver. Needless to say, he did not stop and in the dark it was impossible to identify it or see where it had gone.
Thursday we decided to sail to Jolly Harbour for a couple of days. It gives us a chance to refill the water tanks and make sure the new service batteries are fully charged, and lets Liz see the great beach and water couloirs of Jolly. Pretty rolly on the way down - it will be a couple of days before the falling wind gives reduced wave heights.
So we met up again with Sid and Peggy, and had a great evening in the cockpit chatting, Sid strumming and singing to his guitar, and drinking gin and rum according to taste. One member of our crew, who had not long been with us, said she had not slept so well for years.
Tomorrow the plan is to make an early start and go to Deshaises, Guadaloupe.
