We’ve loved our time in Bora Bora this time around.  When we were here a few weeks ago the weather wasn’t great, the water was cloudy and the people were unfriendly.  This time however the weather has been magnificent and we’ve had some wonderful snorkelling.  The people are still fairly indifferent but that’s okay!

Our friends Johnny and Jenny left yesterday and we returned to the Bora Bora Yacht Club  which has fantastic facilities for cruisers.  It was great to have a long shower, wash hair and do some handwashing. We also used their bikes to go into town and officially clear out with the gendarmerie.  We are ready to leave, our own bikes are stowed and we’re as provisioned as we can be.  Bora Bora does not do vegetables well – I managed to buy some fresh lettuce and bok choy but the rest of the produce section was rather tired.  A bored looked shop assistant was standing beside a trolley load of Ohakune carrots chopping the mouldy  and rotten bits out.  The entire bagful was white and foaming but it doesn’t bother these people.  So much of the produce is wilted or rotting.  Luckily we have loads of canned produce and hopefully, we’ll catch another mahimahi!

All going well we plan to leave Friday morning for Maupiti – we’ll update the blog once we’re there.
