It’s hard to believe but today’s anchorage is even more beautiful than yesterday’s – which we thought was impossibly beautiful. So....no more adjectives....suffice to say we really are in paradise.

After a huge early morning rainstorm, which washed down the decks and filled our water tanks, we set off for Harifa, an anchorage in the south of Fakarava recommended to us by French cruisers.  “It is the best – tres magnifique,” they said.  They were right.  It’s gorgeous.  It’s also washing day (Sunday) so once the sheets and towels are dry we’re heading off ashore to explore.   There is a restaurant here – well, a shacky beach hut that does meals.  You have to pre order so we’ll go ahead and do that and treat ourselves to a meal out.   We haven’t eaten out since pizza in the Marquesas so will be nice to have a break from cooking and night off the boat.  We don’t eat out much and when we do it’s usually a “cruiser” burger or pizza.....but tonight the menu (according to friends) is steak and frites.   Sounds good.

It’s a shame to be sitting inside at the computer when it’s so gorgeous outside.....so I’m signing off.
