A Testing Night!

Last night was quite a test for both yacht and crew - strong winds on the nose all night with a short sharp chop of 4 or 5 foot waves. Not large seas but very uncomfortable.
Nevertheless, we made the tide at the Aldernay Race and arrived at St Peter Port, Guernsey by 1940 on Wednesday. We stopped long enough to drop off Will from Oyster and grab a quick fish n chips (Patrick had some nameless pork deep fried thing which look particularly unappetising!).
We left again at 2220. It is now 0215 and I have just come off watch, leaving Patrick and Richard on deck and Michelle and Kez in their bunks. Now we are 5, we have a different watch system of three hours on and then either 4 or 5 hours off.
We are heading for the Ile d'Ouessant and will refuel and take on water at Camaret near Brest, arrving there around 1600 Thursday. We may stay there overnight if the weather is closing in, or else head out across Biscay if it is not. I'm hopeing it's the latter as we do want to be in Gibraltar by 23 July.
Motoring again as conditions are flat calm - a great relief to all after last night! Hopefully the wind will fill in later and we may even get to try out the parasailor...
