So here we are in las palmas, boat on its berth, where it will stay until The Big Trip in November. We arrived early this morning just as day was breaking after a busy couple of hours. Busy is good. The previous number of hours were a little tedious to be honest. (Brenda writing). It's one thing when there's nothing happening but it's a nice sail. It's another thing when there is nothing happening and it's an unpleasant sail.

We were just commenting on how little wild life we had seen during the day when we spotted our first lot of flying fish. These are small fish about six inches long with wings. They fly out of the water, appear to glide for a bit and go back down. They're very funny. Anyhow the early hours of the morning made up for earlier bordom with massive tankers and some cruise ships. There is great comfort in having the AIS (automated identification system). We even made contact with one tanker (i.e. radio contact) who confirmed he could see us. Relief! Some of these vessels are up to 1000 ft long. Wizard is 50 ft.

It is pitch dark at night which means the moon is more beautiful as are the stars and of course the phosphorescent in the water is like a little bit of magic. For those of you who have never seen phosphorescent in water, it happens when water splashes and little sparkles of light dance around the splash for just seconds.
So that's it for now. No more updates due till we come back in November.
