Skippers log

We are now approaching the Azores our destination

We did not think when we set out on the 24th may that we would still be out
here sailing with 464 miles to go , out target was ETA 11th , our ETA now is
13/14

We have had strong winds ,light winds and everything else in between , this
coupled with adverse currents has made progress at times painfully slow

yesterday however we had a good good day with wiggy clocking 9.12 knots on
the log through the water our top speed

Looking forward
there is a gale developing over the Azores scheduled to hit us on the 12th
so we have decided divert to Flores this island being 100 miles closer than
Horta this will have the advantage of giving Andy and Wiggy an extra 24hrs
for their trip home and also allow us to ride out the gale without having to
push the boat

I,ve apologised to the crew for my attempt at fried smash but made up for it
last night by serving up 4 large Ribeye steaks medium rare

Hopefully I will not have to write another daily log as my next one should
be at anchor in Flores

Cheers

Skipper
