Back to Phuket

I headed off north before my Malaysian visa expired and had some days of lovely sailing.  Bright sunshine, flat water and wind aft of abeam. But when motoring I was getting some funny transmission noises which will have to be investigated.

Back in Boat Lagoon the marina next door (Royal Phuket) was having a boat show.  Mostly superyachts but a couple of other things worth looking at. Such as the elephant parade.  Even after many years of peace elephants are still standing on landmines and losing legs. The ring pull on a can of beer is precisely the correct grade of aluminum to make a prosthesis.  A friend collects them and every time he gets a kilo he posts them to the charity in Chang Mai that makes the legs.   So, drink lots of beer and help a disabled elephant.

If I go to Bangkok I may be able to get a visa for the Andamans…
