We leave first thing to visit the Golden Temple.  Not easy when Dayal goes to the wrong car park and we have to walk endlessly even circumnavigating a locked gate.  A nice temple with 150 Buddha images but not a patch on the one in Myanmar with 5,000 Buddhas.  The road to Kandy should be easy.  A straight road but Dayal manages to turn off and get lost.  My Ipad gets us out of trouble again and finds the hotel when we get to Kandy.  Dayal hasn’t a clue where it is. In the evening I go to a cultural show.  Good for the price.

Next morning off to the Royal Botanical Gardens.  Well laid out, easy to find your way around and beautifully maintained.  Best for me however were the Flying Fox Bats.  On leaving Dayal tells me to cross the road from the main gate.  He then decide it would be easier to meet me on the same side as the gate.  Problem is he does not tell me this…

Next to the Temple of the Tooth.  There is one of Buddha’s teeth in there.  Very sacred and the elephant which carried the tooth is preserved. I get rid of Dayal and go shopping.  Kandy is quite a frantic little city but fun.
