The passage to Sri Lanka started well. For three hours anyway. Then the wind died and we had to motor. I hate using the engine at the start of a passage. That night there were constant thunderstorms with wind from every direction but I finally got some sleep at 0400.

The next two days had very light winds but, worse than that, current against instead of with! And every 10 miles or so a tide race which turned the boat around. What fun.

Well behind schedule we have some wind for part of the day and some current in the right direction. Leaving the forbidden Nicobars astern last night an Indian Navy spotter 'plane called up every vessel in the area. Except Wild Fox.

Wild Fox hates being left out...
