Back to Phuket

We arrive back at the marina to fill up with fuel, food and water (apparently girls need a shower once a week, unlike me).  There is some activity at the marina as we go for five-o-clock beers.  The King is coming in for a sunset cruise on his daughter’s catamaran.  He duly arrives within feet of the table we are sitting at.  A few police, but not many.  Nice to know he feels safe in his own country…

It’s about 130 miles to Phuket spread over four daylight passages.  So four night stops including one at Leonardo di Caprio's famous beach which was digitally created out of the mess you can see in the picture.  But thousands of tourists go there every day.

I only get the boat sailing without the engine for two hours this wind being produced by a thunder storm.  Alex reckons this is a good time to sit below and make a new friendship bracelet. It is very interesting having somebody else aboard the boat.  The deal is that Alex cooks.  The quid pro quo is that the food is vegetarian.

We arrive at Phuket in glorious weather, check in with all the authorities, get some more food and get gloriously soaked going back with another thunderstorm.  Leaving next morning the windlass fails again.  Bloody boats…
