We caught an overnight train to Hanoi.  Unlike the Thai train this one was not teetotal as can be seen from the picture. Then off to a Homestay - log house with reasonable facilities and lots of cycling and walking including a trek up 1200 steps to see a cave.

Off by bus to Halong Bay, a bit like the hongs in Thailand only more of them.  The boat was superb with big en suite cabins and brilliant food. Only slight problem is that there are 600 of these boats in the bay. The chef showed us how to make a decorative net out of a carrot.  Very useful if you need something to fill your day up.

Back to Hanoi for a farewell dinner.  Pity the resraurant was not good but it is great to have Tripadvisor because you can really slate people who have mucked you about. But all in all a great group to have been with.

Not long now until I am back to Wild Fox.  At least I will not spend my whole day avoiding motor cycles.  In Viet Nam if a light turns red they just use the footpath where pedestrians cease to have any rights...
