Well this is
me off overland until 18th May.
There will be the occasional picture or two and a position update while
I am away but most of the ‘photos and stories will have to wait until I get
back.
We had a
great solar eclipse yesterday which came as a shock to the Chinese
tourists. The ones coming here are not
so well educated. They begin by paying
for their holiday with 24 monthly installments and then they go on holiday and
on their return home they have another 24 installments to go. They spend almost no additional money while
in Thailand; mostly because they have not got any to spend. A constant problem
in the hotels is that they go to a 7 – 11 convenience store and buy instant
noodles. The only way to cook them is to
put them in the electric kettle, add water and boil them up. Needless to say this does nothing for the
electric kettle. But it does do quite a
lot for the purveyors of electric kettles…
