I sit it out in Queen's Bay for six days as the wind howls and frequent rain squalls with winds of 35 knots rock me about. Apparently this weather is typical at the start of the suger cane cutting season. I amfind better shelter. I am soon to discover that this is a naturist beach and despite the weather they are out. Hardy types Australian nudists.

With time lost I do an overnight run to Townsville skipping several anchorages. I pass another loading pier at Abbot Point. To get the iron ore out to sufficiently deep water the pier is one and a half miles long with a big conveyor belt; a very big conveyor belt. These overnighters are no fun. Too many islands, too many reefs and rocks, too close to land and a lot of shipping. Sleep is not an option.

Next morning, 15th June, I sail into the quaint city of Townsville six years to the day since I left Bangor. Townsville has some nice buildings. Hopefully the weather will continue to improve and to encourage me to take more pictures.
