I arrive in Bundaberg late on a Sunday afternoon. Bundaberg is famous for its floods. In 2013 the marina near the town was washed away and never rebuilt. Where I am near the river mouth the current ran at 17 knots. The second thing Bundaberg is famous for is its rum distillery; one of the biggest in the world. I am really going to have to check this out.

A nice man comes and fixes my chart plotter; parts AU$90, labour AU$200. The manufacturer told me my system was obsolete and I had to change it; parts AU$12,000, labour AU$2,500. There you go.

I want to go north now but the weather is looking horrible for the weekend and the next anchorages do not have much protection from the trade wind swell so I will stay put until it blows through. I really have no need to be rolling on my beam ends for two or three days.

But I do have a need to check out this distillery...
