Well, the HH (horrible hitch hiker) stayed aboard for two weeks.  We got on like a house on fire and we had a ball.  Walks every day, lots of beaches and waterfalls.  One day we drifted down river for three hours on a bamboo raft, a pastime invented by Errol Flynn when he saw them bringing bananas to port this way. The famous Blue Lagoon with its myriad of hustlers all trying to tell you that they own all or a part of it and you must come with them; for a fee of course.  You are sometimes glad to see the back of people when they leave the boat but for the frst time I felt decidedly lonely when I headed to Colombia and Sapir to Haiti to do volunteer work at a Jewish charity.  I, of course was loaded up with Blue Mountain coffee.

After I left Hurricane Sandy decimated Haiti, Santiago de Cuba and Jamaica.
