We packed up the van and drove to the Barron Falls lookout. Nice walkway through the forest. Not much water in the falls just now but we’ve seen the photos during the wet season and it’s a torrent.
We then drove back down the windy Kuranda road to the big Woolies at Smithfield and topped up supplies before heading for Ellis Beach. We’d called in there on the way down in the Landcruiser and didn’t think much of it but we couldn’t get anywhere else. This time, the beach won us over and the site itself was fine. We decided to book a few more days after our trip up to Port Douglas.
