"Day 13 Unlucky Maybe/Maybe Not?"

During the night the wind died away and Noel who was on watch, started the 'iron horse' and set up the Autohelm.  Although the wind had died, we were motoring into the remaining seas and only making 3kts.  We do not have enough fuel if we should need to motor all the way to Horta (180nm) at this speed, so we have decided to head to Flores which is only 65nm away and altered course.  After about 20 minutes, the wind gently filled in again and the sails were reset and our precious fuel  saved.  We are still on course to Flores, which we are not sorry about, as according to the Pilot Book, Flores is the island NOT to miss, it's yachting facilities are not the best but the people are very welcoming, it is beautiful, we can buy more fuel there and it is CLOSER with the possibility of dinner ashore - maybe?  It is still possible that depending on the wind direction we may yet tack towards Horta but we shall see.

We still have plenty of water and provisions on board, so apart from all of us feeling a little tired after a disturbed night, we are well and life is good!
