"Nearly Half Way"

All is good on board save the fact that we are a little damper than yesterday!  There seems to be no let up on the goffers, which cascade over the top of the hood and into the cockpit.  We are keeping the bottom wash board in place with the top hatch pulled shut, it helps but some water still gets in.  We should really put in the top washboard as well, but none of us want to reduce our air supply.  Today's, steel grey sea lacks the foaming crests of yesterday, so Noel took the opportunity to go on the foredeck and check around, realigning Rustle and relashing the anchor down.  He also found the source of the large amount of water collecting in the bilges, which has meant we have been pumping the bilges hourly for the last 12 hours - the cover on the anchor chain hole had been knocked off.  These holes notoriously leak but less so with a cover in place.

In three miles time we will have traveled 700nm since leaving Bermuda 5 days ago.  We are all very pleased with our progress, especially as we are on course.  If we continue with this speed, we should be celebrating our 'half way' mark tomorrow evening!  Now, that is something we are all looking look forward too!
