"Simpsons Bay Marina - 14th April"

Another day spent getting ready for our departure on Tuesday.  Noel has done all the engine, rigging checks, set up the inner forestay and generally made sure everything is sound.  I spent some time going through our food stores, to see just what we have one board.  A good exercise, I think we have enough to feed an army.  When Tony was on board he was ace at making our meals from scratch with the fresh vegetables we purchased before we left the Canaries.  Since we have been in the Caribbean we have eaten fresh foods, so consequently we have nearly all the tins which we purchased in the UK, including 3 Fray Bentos Pies!  I am sure these will be enjoyed somewhere on our passage.  We also have enough tins of Corned Beef to make 7 meals of Corned Beef Hash (including 2 cans of Baked Beans to go with it, sorry Michael there are still no sausages in the beans!).  I laughed as I unearthed numerous cans of Sardines, remembering that when we used to sail with our dear friend Piero, there was always numerous cans of Simental on board.  Noel sent him a text telling him this and he replied immediately that now he stores Caviar!  We fell about laughing, he is very quick witted.

All stores listed and armed with another list of short comings and necessities we went to the supermarket and are now stocked up and ready to leave on Tuesday.  The long range weather forecast looks good, winds from the east occasionally south east force 4, which will push us nicely north to Bermuda on the next leg of our adventure.
