We departed Arbatax 11:35hrs, Aug 31st, for a 52nm run south down the east coast of Sardinia. Spectacular mountain scenery on the way but not much wind, so we were under motor most of the way. We anchored at Punta Ta. Molentis, near Porto Giunco, and went for a swim. A very calm anchorage overnight. In the morning August 1st Helen, Jude, Joe and I took the dinghy into the sheltered beach to do a bit of exploring.

We raised the anchor and departed for Cagliari at 1018hrs. On the run to Cagliairi we had light downwind conditions so we set up with poled genoa and jib and goosewinged our way into Golfo Di Cagliari. We then decided to fly the Richmond kite and on our third attempt had it set. I had not attached the tack sheet properly on the first two attempts and it had exited the bow sprit on each occasion so we had to pull the sock in, rethread the tack sheet through the bow sprit and re-hoist the kite. A Swiss yacht nearby took some photos and kindly gave me copies when we both arrived in Cagliari.
