| Update We ended up staying 3 nights in Cala Portinatx due to the calmness of the Cala and not least because Doug, Michelle and William in "Classified II" also happened to arrive a day after ourselves.
Teaching each other. Charlie was certainly pleased as this meant that yet again he would have a friend for a while. It also happened to be Williams birthday on the Saturday and they arrived in the Cala with their boat decked in balloons, banners and the dreaded Ibizan Summer Dance Mix playing very loudly - a reminder of the previous Saturday night!!!!!! Charlie and William have spent hours teaching each other things and Charlie has now learnt how to row a tender.
Charlie and William together in Classified II's tender with Charlie rowing...........the great thing is "No License is required!!!!"
The Cala had a number of nice golden sandy beaches with various hotels around the edge with lovely warm clear blue water (see below). It seemed to be a popular place for yachts, not least because it is a good starting point for the trip to the next island, Mallorca, which was just the thinking we had on Watermark IV.

As usual, a lot of time was spent in the water by all but this weekend things also turned into a bit of a party feast - impromptu, of course.
More new friends. One nice thing was that we finally got to chat with a couple off an Oyster 53 called Sula that we have been following around and seen on 3 occassions in other ports and anchorages. Charlie swam over to them and introduced himself and asked lots of questions about they rather large black labrador. The next thing we know is that he has invited them over for a cup of tea. We had a lovely afternoon with Sue and Mike and found out that they come from Chichester and are travelling around with the family dog called Tilly who also happens to have her own cabin!!! Guess it's important to have your own space......
Sula's Mike & Sue having afternoon drinks on board Watermark IV with Michelle from Classified II on the right. Oh no, those glasses look empty again..What happened to the cup of tea????...Tee Hee Hee
With so many restaurants on the beach we dined ashore most evenings which also gave us opportunity to stretch the legs. Sometimes it's good to get off the boat and walk on firm land that isn't constantly moving up, down and around underneath you.
Guess who stretching their legs on the beach in Cala Portinatx. As you can see, statutory dress of baggy shirt and shorts....
And sometimes we dress for dinner........well, I've got a clean T shirt and shoes on so it must be best....!!!!!! Watermark IV is in the Cala behind us..
The Party!!! On our last night in the Cala we were invited for a "QUICK" drink on "Classified II". Not wanting to be accused of "Drink, Driving" we left the engine on Waterwinky at home and rowed across manually. We also met some more new people, Pete and Christine, from New Zealand and a boat called Mr Blue.
Christine and Pete from Mr Blue and New Zealand...
To Charlie's horror he found out that Christine was a TEACHER. This did not impress him very much and was not to be seen for much of the night!!!!! Well, the night went on and more wine seem to emerge out from under the floorboards - that's were we all keep our strategic reserves!!!
Captain Marky with a rather large glass of wine, a big happy smile and cuddled into Michelle......Crickey, where's Cathy. Oh, that's OK, she took the picture!!!!
Then - as we all talked, we realised that we were all leaving in the morning for the island of Mallorca, there were other boats in the Cala also doing the same - YES, the race was on. All boats and crews agreed on a 07:00hrs start........ The night went on a little longer than expected, that one too many glasses of wine and then - "Crickey", the realisation that I've got to row Watermark's crew home in Waterwinky AND get back on board. Somehow, you always manage to do it.........
Waterwinky was lifted out of the water and stowed on the foredeck and we all got to bed. It was 01:00hrs and alarms were set for 06:00hrs. Hmmm, I have a feeling that tomorrow is going to be a long hot day............... BUT THERE IS A RACE TO BE HAD.........
