I’m getting nearer home with every hour but I don’t dare let myself think of it too much….105 miles closer yesterday. I’m so pleased I took the decision to make the break for it Wednesday evening, I’m just about hanging onto the residual of that trough but behind me is a whole world of pain, which thankfully I should avoid as it migrates North West, but it will provide some very useful westerlies wed and thur which should push me right up the channel and home.

It's been very heavy cloud and misty drizzle, but for the first time in four days I saw a glimpse of the sun, it's amazing how its appearance lifts your spirits. From fretting over every little thing, suddenly everything is so fantastic…I will miss this strange world of mine…… it is amazing how in this little 27 foot, 40 year old vessel you can travel so far…..everybody should have one.

I hope to finish Churchill's history of WW2 today….cant wait to find out how it ends....

If I was to give an ETA I would probably say Friday, its about 500 miles to go but I may surprise myself and get in sooner as with those westerlies that kick in Wed could be quite strong ….I think I’m just about in the uk SAR region so if anything happens they might just send out an aircraft to try and locate me!

My imaginary friends have been very quiet the last few days….I’ll miss them…

This time next week I could be catching up with the Archers omnibus on the radio ..…...
