These westerlies are very irritating not only do they blow in the wrong direction but they are very flakey one minute blowing 35 knots the next 10. Anyhow had my first meal in 4 days today some pasta with tomato and basil sauce which was great. I want to be at least down to Spain by Wednesday but can’t see it at this rate might be Friday or even Saturday. By the end of today I hoped to have completed 400 miles but my speed has dropped again to 2.5 kts so it will be about 275 miles. Once I can get past the bay of biscay then things should improve bit in my favour. At least I’m making progress, I could still be sat at Brixham waiting for a weather window.
Technically I pleased with the boat and it is performing considering the weather as good even better than I expected. A few electrical niggles my wind speed indicator stopped working which is a pain but I had a hand held back up which gives a good indication. Also a noticed water inside the cabin which was increasing in quantity not much maybe 3 or 4 litres but its unnerving. After hunting high and low without success I had a sleep for a couple of hours first real sleep I’ve had in four days. Then within moments I had found the source of the leak. It was an outside vent which wasn’t used. It fed into the wet clothes locker. Due to the boats healing water was going into the vent and then into the cabin so I booked that off and I believe that has resolved that little issue see pick. Not seen Amy shipping today which is good weather dull and grey so had a Sunday mainly in the cabin today.
