Hello, Happy Monday all..

Yesterday being remembrance Sunday it was also the Sodbury Slog, an off road cross country event around the fields of Sodbury which is held every remembrance Sunday.  It normally marks for me the end of the season and is followed by a big Sunday lunch normally a big casserole with dumplings.

Fireworks over, halloween over and now I expect the big push towards Christmas, dark mornings and celebrity dancing on Saturday night. I was thinking about this while eating my weetabix this morning looking across miles of empty ocean. Temperature now is about mid 80s, shorts and bare feet. I've put all the cold weather gear away and it feels strange that I was wearing gloves during the day when I set off.

Ive also found that tea with evaporated milk is delicious and so is weetabix I wish I had bought more of it.

Different challenges for me this year to the Sodbury slog. I’ve prepared a rough passage plan which involves working towards a position 20 North 30 West. This is the point that I can pick up the tradewinds to the West Indies and its about 800 miles to the south west of my current position. There is no exact science to this and its all a balance between available winds, most direct distance and passage time, but the total distance to go is roughly 2700 miles. In my planning I assume 100 miles a day so 27 days which would take me to 8th December. If I only achieve 75 miles a day this would push my ETA Antigua to16 December (for info yesterday I achieved 85).

I must remember to put my entry in for next years Sudbury slog!

Aye for now
