Up at 0615 for an early get away. It was still dark, Denis on the bows with a strong torch so that we could easily see the rusty iron breakwaters, we threaded our way back out and set sail for Alicante. The wind was already blowing 6 knots so we took advantage and hoisted sails hoping this will save us fuel.
We arrived 1600 and went straight to the fuel berth. 100 litres in the tank and 50 litres in the jerry cans. So we were no where near running out, even had another jerry can with 20 litres in just in case.
Now refuelled and paperwork complete – Alicante is sooooo expensive, the most yet 43 euros a night, and we are spending two nights here, just as well last night was free.

They re preparing for the Volvo World Ocean Race which starts here on 2nd October, we will be on our way back from The Balearics to Denia, as they come passed on “Leg 0” going to The Balearics. I hope we see them, as they look very impressive out of the water.

Alicante is a beautiful marina, very modern and surrounded by expensive casino, bars and restaurants, all over looked by the impressive Castle, Castillo de Santa Barbara. WE decided to explore tomorrow, today we would wonder the old town streets and find reasonably priced food....all too expensive in the marina.
