WHALES!
We had a close encounter with the second largest creature in our world
yesterday. A fin whale (up to 24 metres long), it swam straight at us and dived
under – then swam along with us about thirty metres off for ten minutes.
Spouting water as it came to the surface. We are so privileged to see things
like this!
Another Fan Belt Bites the Dust
We seem to get through these at a good rate, luckily we have been well
stocked. The wind has dropped and we need the engine; as I always do a cursory
check before starting: fan belts, oil and coolant, the problem hopefully will
get spotted before any damage is done.
Foggy Start
No great sunrise today, just fog. No AIS, ships talking on the radio that
must be close. I was very relieved as the fog burnt off and the sun shone
through.
