No Moorings
We looked for moorings at Baillie Bay but there were only fish nursery bouts.  So we sailed onto Portsmouth. We dropped anchor and it failed to bite. On trying to raise it we found that the anchor windlass didn't work. Denis manfully hauled it up by hand, complaining that he was too old for this!

Broken Switch
A passing boat boy offered us a mooring. That evening we went ashore to eat at the Purple Turtle and met Duck McClary RYA author and Mary Swift. A jolly couple who are sailing six months on their home made wooden yacht Alacazam.

Next day we found a broken wire under the anchor switch. Luckily I had a spare, which we installed.

Wednesday The Day of The Lizard
It rained all morning while Denis and I walked to Fort Shirley. As we walked the trails of Cabrits National Park we were amazed to see so many lizards. Hundreds were leaping off the path as we approached. We even saw iguana and a snake. The paths were littered with dead land crabs which had been eaten by the snakes.

Tomorrow we move on to Les Saints, Guadeloupe.
