Deshaies (Day ay), Guadaloupe.
Saturday, 7th February 2015

Another early start
We were up and away by seven. The wind was with us, the sun shining and we got the water maker on to fill our tanks. A good sail along the West coast of Guadeloupe had the wind coming from East then West, then East, then West again. Just keeping us on our toes.

Deshaies, and a fussy what's it!
We arrived about 1400, anchored and went ashore. I was expecting a busy town, it is very pretty with a red roofed church and tower in the middle of the town. But somehow, you get the feeling that it all set up for tourists and we need to go further in land to see real Guadeloupe. Again the streets are lined with souvenir shops, bars, restaurants, car hire, in fact everything a wealthy tourist could want...and all very picturesque. I am starting to sound ever so picky and negative! I know, we are tourists.

So we'll stay a little longer and see if we can explore the island tomorrow.
