Setting Sail
Set off from Rodney Bay Marina at 0700, arrived Fort de France at 1350. A wonderful sail, a 'fetch' Denis informs me, we could get there without tacking.

Customs in a shop?
We anchored and dinghied ashore. Everything was shut, shutters down as well. Not at all welcoming. We sent emails to try and make contact with Sophie and Vincent, friends of Kath and Alan our English friends who live in France. I had met Sophie and Vincent once; Penny had met them a few times. When I met them I promised to let them know if I managed to sail to Martinique. sadly Vincent had chikungungya and was not well enough to meet up. I said how sorry I was and wishes him well. We were supposed to get customs clearance online in Sea service, the local chandlers. They were supposed to stamp our online form. Oh well, they were shut, no clearance for us today!

Outdoor Cuisine
All Denis and I could find open was a few stalls in the park. That evening the town came alive, with marching brass band, cars and bikes revving to the beat of the music and pulling wheelies along the front. We sat quietly in the park and had a great meal with wine! Stefan another yachty who stopped by for a beer, from Sweden told us WiFi was available from the tourist office stall in the park, so that's where we tried to contact everyone.
