Port Louis,  St George, Grenada

January 20th 2015

While out of the water in Power Boats, Chaguaramas, Trinidad,  we serviced the seacocks, had a pv panel built and fitted, mainsail batten pockets repaired, toe rail repaired,  stainless steel fairleads fitted, bimini and dodgers adjusted. Polished the hull and touched up a couple of scratches and fitted the pv panel. we had been warned of pirates operating between Trinidad and Grenada,  so crept out under cover if dark and ais on stealth mode. In the event the journey was uneventful.  Since arriving in Grenada we have bought and fitted a new wind generator and regulator. Hoist it into place with the aid of the spinnaker pole and a block. Tomorrow we move on to Carriacou a small island and anchir in Tyrell Bay fir two nights. Perhaps no internet so updates to blog will be made when possible.

Today we needed a new batten so we hired a taxi to give a tour of the south end of the island. We saw waterfalls, spice markets, monkey sanctuary and National Park and a rum distillary. Finally we went to Prickly Bay and Turbulence Sails to pick up a bottom batten and a spare. Grenada is beautiful place but vast difference in wealth with multi million dollar yachts and local  people so poor they try to invent jobs...like asking for money to jump into the waterfalls.
