Table Mountain

Cape Town is dominated by the famous Table Mountain, but a better view is to be had from the much lower top of Lion’s Head, seen here from the mountain top:


In the distance is Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for so long; on the headland is the doughnut of the stadium where the International Rugby Sevens have just been played (the home team won in a sell-out competition), and to the right of that are the docks where the VS will shortly be briefly moored.
Below, a closer view of downtown with the Cape Mountains in the distance:  


The view from the top looking south towards Cape Point, with the Twelve Apostles:


Still looking south, but down onto Camps Bay where the posh houses and nice beaches are:


And looking towards Table Mountain with the very obvious lump of the Cable Car top station at the right hand end of the summit:


The views from Lion’s Head and Table Mountain really are world class, and as you can see Cape Town is right next door. Lovely.
