A brief visit to the town of Esperance (named after the French ship which sheltered from a storm here in 1792) to drop Cousin Mark off for the 10 hour bus trip to Perth, followed by a four hour flight to Melbourne. Crew were hoping for a supermarket, but as usual we have arrived on a bank holiday and almost everything is closed including both supermarkets. So after a visit to the laundromat we’re off again for Albany 200nm to the west.
Weather continues to be miserable – 100% overcast, very strong winds and rain showers. Not at all like the tourist brochures, and more of the same forecast for the next few days. Ugh.
