Having sailed past Eden by choice, we have had to sail past Flinders Island through necessity. An unforecast nasty strong wind from the east has brought big waves, fog and drizzle making the tricky entrance at Flinders untenable. So we’re off another 130nm south down the very inhospitable east coast of Tasmania to the next safe anchorage. ETA 0600hrs Tuesday local time.

And the foghorn has decided not to work, so it’s eyes peeled.
