We are elated to have arrived in Athens, eleven months after leaving Buckler's Hard. Piraeus, the port for Athens, is a dirty bustling place, but Zea Marina is very smart and we are tied up alongside lots of beautiful wooden yachts from the 1960's. From here it's a bus and Metro ride to downtown Athens. Ian is hiring a car to visit some of the famous sites of Ancient Greece, also visited by Lord Byron in 1809.

We are staying here for two weeks before Sophie and Lanky join us and we head east towards Turkey.
