Watching England win on penalties from our very good restaurant, through two windows and across a street was unusal! Next day a long sail/motor south took us to beautiful, sunny Flatey, a remote island with pretty houses, great bird life (eiders, puffins, snow bunting, redshanks, ringed plovers and snipe) and a very tight anchorage in an old volcanic crater. Spotting Red Phalaropes was a first for me. Sailing in sunshine SW the following day was glorious heading towards distant snowy Snaesfell . 10 mins fishing resulted in a frenetic catch of far to many cod for 4 of us! Olavsvik is a pleasant fishing port with a church designed entirely of triangles. Today was spent walking up to a coll underneath the Snaesfell icecap. Lots of tired legs tonight. Colin provided spectacular entertainment for us, the Harbourmaster  and local fishermen by creating a Geneva Fountain with the high pressure water hose. Apparently there isn,t an automatic cut off valve! .

10 minutes work!!
