It is with decidedly mixed feelings that I write to say that Troutbridge has been sold. We had many adventures together, many happy times and several 'character building' times. I'm sorry that we couldn't finish the voyage together, although in truth the voyage was open-ended and there was no real plan. I had no real intention of returning to the  UK, yet here I am and hopefully starting work in the not too distant future. There is a good chance that I will resume flying sometime late August/early September--in a sense back where I started from, when I left Guernsey in 2008.

As regular readers will know (or have guessed) the last couple of years have been a real struggle, both in emotional terms and financial terms. Since my pension payments were cut back in May 2012, I can now reveal that I have been struggling along on £25 per week, plus some book sales and help from friends and relatives. To all who helped me out, in whatever way, my heartfelt thanks.

As to the future, well the first priority is to pay back some debts. I can't see much further than that, but all being well I'll have about three and a half years flying before final retirement. Final retirement from flying, that is. I intend to continue writing, both my blog and further books. Although I won't be adding much to this blog, I will continue to indicate when I've posted something on my other blog,

You could always bookmark that blog, or even sign up for email notice of a new post :)

The new owners of Troutbridge have quite a restoration task ahead of them, but at the end of it they will have a great boat. I don't regret my choice of boat to sail the seven seas...yes there were times I wished she was a little faster but overall she's been a great home and a fantastic way to see the world. Returning (hopefully) to flying has taught me 'never say never' so I can't say that at some stage I won't be off cruising again. I still enjoy long-distance cruising, so who knows?

Once again, thanks for all the help and encouragement along the way.
