There's a breathless hush on the boat this morning

It's 0550. There's a knot of wind in the right direction and within about an hour the current will be favourable as well so it's all to play for.

I have 40 metres of chain to haul up and an aching back (still) from the other evening.

The gennaker is on. I managed on my own, a bit to my surprise.

The question now is will I be able to start the engine and will I get forward gear? I will attempt to flash up the emergency elektrikery in about half an hour. The output in terms of amps can be erratic so maybe I can get enough into the starter battery or maybe I can't. Time will tell. 76nm to the next stop so I reckon on 24 hours. I've just heard from Calypso that the next stop is another deep anchorage and already crowded. Without an engine probably impossible to work in close enough to drop the hook. If that is the case then it will simply be 'on y va!' to the next stop.

I will let you know what happens but if I don't post within the next six hours then I will be en route.

Play up, play up and play the game!
