Right, I think I've got the basics covered! The weather has taken a turn for the better after my 'pre-Christmas' visitors left, although the wind is now southerly so there's a bit of a swell in the marina. For those interested, Hiper Dino will deliver to the boat 'front door' AND when they say they'll be there in an hour they mean it! I guess they're used to prising boat crews out of the Sailors bar if they're not ready and waiting at the boat (not that I wasn't you understand....pause for a slight blush). I've found a fruit stall that also delivers to the boat and will advise on the suitability and longevity of various types of fruit/veg. The lady speaks excellent english and if only I'd remembered to bring the address I could post it here (next time, but they leave flyers around the marina). Incidentally, for those who asked, green peppers last longer than red peppers, but it's important that ALL fruit and veg has not been chilled at any stage or it will go off quickly.
Next week off to see Laura at El Court Ingles who speaks english, to order the vacuum packed meat. From experience, unrefrigerated vacuum packed meat lasts at least three weeks (several months, according to Carol & Keith in Kirsten Jayne). Oh yes, the toilet rolls are not the same size as those in the UK, so to avoid 'emergencies' it's better to over-stock, 'nuff said!
That's it for now, a few more last minute checks to do before the 'orft'. If I don't get a chance to post again before 'the day', happy Crimbo to one and all and I hope the new year brings you whatever you want it to.
