Daily run 140nm
Although things started to calm down yesterday we kept the boat well reefed-down and had a good nights sleep (presumably those 'on-watch' didn't sleep!). This morning we flew the gennaker and put the main away, the speed went up 0.5 kt and I reckon tomorrow's run should be back up in the 150nm range. Also managed to persuade the watermaker to produce some water.
I was chef du jour yesterday and amused myself by baking bread (the ladies were polite about it!)for lunch with boiled chicken franfurters, cream cheese, pickled cucumber and a couple of slices of corned dog. I also made some bread  bread pudding for supper.Oh, how we live on this boat!
Bean Surprise:
Soak assorted beans overnight.
Drain and carefully place in pressure cooker.
add chopped onion and tomato paste
Can of coconut milk + 2 can's worth of water
Add ginger & garlic to taste, then add a lot more to survive the pressure cooking.
Add just a hint (several desert-spoon's worth) of hot mango pickle.
Bring pot to pressure and cook 'au facon de Broad-Bleu' for about 25 minutes
Allow pressure to drop then add a can of sliced carrots (remembering to remove carrots from the can)
Voila, c'est Bean Surprise.
Serve and receive compliments
All well on board with surprisingly few 'after-effects' from the stew.
