Actually, I've moved onto the other side of the bay which is less rolly.
Anyway, we drifted down here on the 13th, another epic of about 10.6nm!!!!!
Some little scrote has a scam going on the dingy dock (which is public) 'give me $1.00 per dingy, I'll watch it'. Yes, you watch it matey, I dropped Simon ashore for a look around, so avoiding the scam (so far). Si has gone off to Panama City for a couple of days for 'Carnival' & should be back on wed, so thu we go down to Shelter Bay.
Yesterday I did a sail repair and today I thought I'd service both engines. Aha, only 4 litres of engine oil  (you need 5.6 litres to change both engines), the other container was empty (doh!), never mind I'll do one.....well, yes, eventually. The oil-removing vacuum pump gave up the ghost (yet more expense!) and so I got all bar 0.5 litre of the old oil out (which looked pretty good, actually). So, after standing on my head, muttering a few incantations and removing the old oil filter (in the process, of course, draining a bit more oil out) I put everything back together and it still runs.....with a bit too much oil in it, but I have no way now to drain off the excess. Great. I suppose I'd better drain this oil and replace it once I get a new oil-removing device and of course I still have the other engine to do, but I'm now in practice so it should (hah!) go a bit faster.
That's about it for now, I think Delicado and Kilkea may be arriving today. Food supplies are dwindling nicely, I found some naan bread mix that was best before the end of Jan (09.....oopsie). Well, it tasted a bit like naan bread! Baked beans, tuna, pancakes, pasta, all on the menu for the next few days to get them finished up then it'll be time to do a mini-shop and start planning the big shop!
