How to track our progress

There are two ways to track our progress.

The first is via this blog. On a daily basis we plan to post our position and a brief synopsis of what’s happened in the last 24 hours. These really will be brief because we’ve been unable to get my laptop to send or receive emails via the satellite phone (bloody IT department) and therefore will be composing and posting using the satellite phone’s messaging capability which is from a bygone era - there’s no alpha keyboard or predictive text so it’s press 7 four times in quick succession just to get the letter s - tedious in the extreme. There won’t be any pictures either but that was going to be the case anyway had the email been working. So the blog will be in black and white until we reach Barbados.

We will also be updating the rally organisers with our position at least once each day and the second way to track our progress is to use the rally organiser’s boat tracking page: http://cornellsailing.com/sail-the-odyssey/atlantic-odyssey/track-boats/. This will show the position of all of the boats on this event (the Atlantic Odyssey 2016) and allow you to find out how far we have travelled, how far there is to go and our expected arrival time in Barbados based on our average speed so far.
