Early wake up, maybe a bit restless too. Didn’t want to leave, but looking forward going home as well. Tony joined me with coffee and we talked about future plans, having our own sailing boat and how to achieve dreams… Some conversations you have with someone stay in mind forever.

Plan was to go to another bay nearby for lunch and to be back around 16.00hrs to be in time for our taxi to the airport. Tina arranged us a taxi by a friend in the harbour, Antonio. She made a good deal ‘for good price’;-)

We had lunch in the bay of Cala Portrese. The area of Maddalena Islands, Sardinia and Corsica is really nice to have sailing holidays. Wind every day, short or longer distances and beautiful places to stay on anchor. We loved it!!

T&T made us a wonderful lunch and we toasted on the passing two weeks, great sailing, new experiences, great laughs and conversations and a very nice experience to put in our Log…

Back in Cannigione after a lovely sail at 16.00hrs we packed our bags and had a last beer together waiting for the taxi that was perfectly in time.

Goodbye was inevitable, to all good things comes an end (though bad things end too fortunately). We said goodbye to our dear friends, being certain seeing each other again. Lots of hugs later we got in the (small..) taxi and a sweet nice young man brought us to Olbia airport.

We were awaited there by long cues, noisy Dutch nationals and total southern European airport chaos…terrible and it drags you back to every day life…

Like we always do, we wait for boarding till the queues at the gate is gone.  It was a long long queue, we thought. Suddenly we heard ‘Last Call’  and ‘Amsterdam’… We almost missed our flight…

Back in Amsterdam we once again were reminded why you should never travel by train: it doesn’t ride or it takes you ages to get home. This time it didn’t ride… I got really grumpy and Anita stayed 10 meters behind me because of my bad mood while going through customs. And then being met by our son and sisters was absolutely the last we thing we expected!! A bit overwhelmed but that was really the best thing that could happen! So as we say in Holland: Well that ends well.
