Hi all,

Scoglio at anchor .....what a gem.  The wind has finally gone and this anchorage is lovely. White sand with clear water makes for a turquoise bay. We can see the sandy bottom and the anchor chain in the still water which resembles a swimming pool.

Later ashore....
The town of Scoglio has had a recent make over with a really interesting, trendy new promenade....a combination a wooden decking, stainless steel, green landscaped areas, modern water features with interesting lighting, sculptures and text.
At 7.30 pm at present date around sunset , sonata serenade/ traditional Sardinian music is played from speakers around the decking area. It is played adjacent to a large bronze sculpture of a mermaid in the sea.  A crowd of on lookers had gathered which attracted us to the music. The atmosphere was really lovely watching the sun go down over the mountains with the music playing and the mermaid catching the last rays.

The next day we watched the local dinghy club launch their dinghies into the bay and people having a lot of fun on the new waterfront. Children running in and out of fountains and the local teenagers throwing themselves into the sea off the dinghy launching ramp........all in the lovely very hot sun.

The town of Scoglio was friendly, good places to eat, few nice shops, but mostly we enjoyed the calm anchorage in the lovely bay surrounded by the waterfront town.
