Hi all,
We have enjoyed a few calm days before heading back to Cannigione marina to get a repair done to our genoa sail and also to dodge the strong winds forecast again. From 7th -13th we have had consistent strong winds in the 20s-30s true knots touching 40 on night of 9th and in the 20s touching 30 true on 13 th. The wind chill has hit the temperature. By day the sun is lovely out of the wind, but when the sun drops the wind is chilly and we have gone back to wearing jeans to go out.....unknown in July here. The locals say the temp at night feel like September. Despite this......don't we just love the Sardinians.....they are just fab and know how to enjoy themselves. Despite the many miles we have sailed in all kinds of weather, whilst us wimps have ridden out the gusts in the marina; a local Sardinian boat has done what Italians do best......enjoyed themselves. On the evenings when they returned to the dock
within minutes the wine came out, good cheeses, procuitti etc, lots of
laughter...... and then at night to sleep....they squashed themselves into all
spaces including on deck. Great to see people simply having a good
time.
