The Greek Islands are just fab to explore by scooter or motorbike.

We have sailed around much of the east coast of Levkas but not the west side. We decided to take the coast road to see some of the the dramatic west coastline, steep cliffs and white sand and pebbled beaches.

The most dramatic beaches are difficult to access without Tarmac roads and are normally accessed by tripper boats from the sea.

The island is very wooded, very green, predominantly covered in pine trees. The scent of pine is lovely in the sunshine. We needed jeans and light jackets for the shaded roads travelling by scooter.........an alien experience.

In the sunshine the temperature was still lovely, enjoying visiting the towns and many villages on the island from north to south as well as Dessimou and Vassiliki, the wind surfing bay on the south coast.

We travelled for about 150 Kilometers and were saddle sore by the time we ended the day in Levkas town, drinking coffee with the locals as the sunset. A great tour of the island.

Love to all
