On the morning of 28th sept we watched as the dance of the crocheted anchors began. The harbour has yachts on a slightly curved quay and yachts head to head..... and it is small and so the tangles of the night before somehow get untangled as yachts try to leave in the order they arrived.......multi national conversations and gestures.......with help from onlookers and with others jumping into dinghies to tie ropes and untangle the chains. All good natured when in light or no wind conditions. A very different story in high winds. Fortunately the conditions were good and we waited until we felt our anchor was free of others and left easily off the quay.

We rounded the north tip of the island and had a wonderful treat. We saw a pod of around 5 dolphins who looked to be feeding. We headed close to the stopping the boat with them swimming close to us and spectacularly jumping vertically and slapping their tales on the water.

Whilst we have seen hundreds of dolphins on a travels , the sightings are rare in the Ionian, so it was a real treat to have them close to us for about an hour.

We continued west to anchor off Nidri beach, then tranquil bay to go ashore in Nidri and finally anchoring in Vlikho for a lovely evening and calm overnight.

Love to all
