On 26th Sept,11.00hrs we untied our shore lines from the rocks, lifted anchor and headed north in  very light winds to anchor in Marathia bay, mainland Greece, The bay has a lovely sandy bottom, unusual for the area and is a great anchorage if you can find a sandy patch for the anchor to set away from the weedy areas. The water is beautifully clear..

We had planned to sail back to the island of Meganisi on the usual afternoon NW breeze but it didn't kick in and we motored south in the warm afternoon sun to the marina in Vathy, Meganisi, 18.20 hrs.

Even in late season this little place has a lovely atmosphere with locals and yachties enjoying a very red sunset. This tiny island doesn't have a bank or ATM and is definitely off grid.

The following morning I bought some provisions from one of the local shops and with several bags was offered a 'lift' back to the boat...........???, a helping hand?....... a car??.   .....a scooter....... No......on the back of a quad bike  complete with all the bags !!!!!!
